Generally speaking, a domain name is the URL where visitors can find your application. Each time you create a new environment on Artifakt, we will generate a secured Artifakt domain, which has the form https://[workspaceCode]-[projectCode]-[environmentUniqueID].artifakt.dev (for example, https://artifakt-ecommerce-2r3bd.artifakt.dev).
Sometimes you may need to customize this Artifakt domain according to your specific needs (multi-store ecommerce application, internationalization, etc.). You can create as many Artifakt domains as you need without incurring any extra charges.
Each Artifakt domain comes with a valid SSL certificate (see How do I enable HTTPS (SSL)? for more details), and with full HTTP2 support.
Add a subdomain
To add an Artifakt subdomain, access the "Domains" from the environment settings and click on "Add Domain" under the domains grid.
Then select the "Artifakt Domain" option and provide the value at which your want your application to be accessible. Once it's done, click on "Add" and your new Artifakt subdomain will be available immediately.
Delete a subdomain
To delete an Artifakt subdomain, access the "Domains" from the environment settings. Select the Artifakt domain you wish to delete and click on "Delete" from the contextual menu.
A subdomain may be set as a primary domain. This domain will act as the default domain for your application. Throughout Artifakt you will see the primary domain referenced, including in your 'Environment Overview' and your 'Project Environments'.
If you delete a primary Artifakt domain, the root domain will automatically become the new primary domain.
